Securing these tools involves venturing into mutant-filled caves, but the effort is rewarded with access to the Shotgun.

Retrieving the Shotgun
To retrieve the Shotgun, begin by pulling out your GPS Tracker and navigating towards the purple GPS locator marker situated in the northwestern part of the map. You can use the zoom function on your GPS to compare your position with the map and pinpoint the exact location.
As you approach the grave site, your GPS Tracker will start to emit beeping sounds. The frequency of these beeps will increase as you get closer to the precise spot. When the beeping is at its fastest, you are directly over the grave. Look for a cross constructed from sticks with a red cloth. This cross might blend in with the surrounding bushes, trees, and foliage, especially if you arrive before winter. If you arrive after Day 10, when winter has set in, the area will be cold; consider equipping and lighting a torch with your lighter to stay warm.
Once you have identified the grave, use your Shovel to dig into the ground. After the digging is complete, you will uncover a casket. Open the casket with your Shovel to reveal a deceased worker clutching the Shotgun. Collect the Shotgun to add it to your arsenal. Be aware that cannibals may be present in the vicinity of the grave, so preparing with armor is advisable.
Shotgun Attachments
To enhance the Shotgun’s utility, you will need the Shotgun Rail attachment. This rail is required to attach other accessories like the Laser Sight or Flashlight. There are two known locations for the Shotgun Rail:
- North of the Shotgun location: Head to the green circle waypoint on your GPS Tracker, north of where you found the Shotgun. This location is an abandoned camp featuring two white tents, survey equipment, and three supply crates. Look for an open briefcase next to a white tent and a campfire to find the Shotgun Rail. The tents might be difficult to spot amidst the dense wilderness, so look for their peaks above the bushes.
- Northern sandy cove beach: Navigate to the green circle waypoint on your GPS Tracker, north of the snowy mountain. Here, you’ll find another abandoned camp with two black tents, one corpse, two beach chairs, three deflated red boats (one of which contains the Machete), and six supply crates. The Shotgun Rail is found in the hand of the corpse slumped against one of the black tents.
To attach the Shotgun Rail, combine it with the Shotgun in your inventory by placing both items in the crafting area and selecting “Combine.” Once the Shotgun Rail is attached, you can then combine the Flashlight Attachment or Laser Sight with your Shotgun.
